This year we sadly lost a very important member of our family, Fergus, so this Christmas I wanted to share my favourite and funniest Christmas memory that involves this loveable pup!

Last year we had gathered all our family to stay for the holidays, and they brought their lovely Labrador and friendly Dalmatian-cross with them, to keep our wonderful Westie Fergus and our friends dog we were babysitting company. Christmas Eve, we set the house up ready for an exciting Christmas day together; the house was clean and tidy, presents tucked safely under the tree and everyone fast asleep. I was going to be baking some fresh cakes on Christmas day to go along with our Christmas dinner feast, so I had left a box full of butter on the kitchen table ready. What we didn’t expect to happen, was our cheeky dog Fergus, to jump up on the table, push 6 blocks of butter to the floor, sharing his own Christmas Joy with the 3 other dogs!

My dad walked in, bright and early on Christmas morning and was greeted with 6 empty butter wrappers, and 4 very poorly and sorry for themselves dogs, who had been ill absolutely everywhere, all over the beautifully cleaned kitchen!

But oh no, it didn't stop there. Fergus, feeling very down in the dumps, sulked upstairs. Minutes later when my Dad was lighting the fire ready to make the house cosy for Christmas, he felt something dripping on his neck, looking up he could see something coming through the floorboards above his head. It turns out that Fergus, clearly annoyed at having been told of for sharing the butter with his dog friends, had created a big puddle in the bedroom upstairs, right above my dad's head! I like to think our cheeky dog knew exactly what he was doing. Serves me right for leaving butter where a dog’s nose could reach it!

Here's hoping for a slightly less messy Christmas this year, but I am going to miss our Fergus getting into all sorts of mischief! If you have any funny Christmas stories, especially if they are about any of your pets, please tag me in them, I would love to hear how naughty other pets can be at Christmas!

Today, I have definitely got the Festive Friday feeling, and am very excited to see all my friends and family for a lovely Christmas. From everyone here at Ridiculously Rich, thank you for all of your support in 2017, we can't wait to see what 2018 brings!
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you all!
