Tea and cake. Is there any better combination? If you know me, you will know that I am a die-hard Earl Grey fan and think it goes with everything! However, in preparation for the National Tea Day on the 21st of April, we have been educating ourselves on all things tea, to come up with the perfect pairing for our Ridiculously Rich Cakes! So grab a cuppa, a slice of cake and take a look at these delicious flavours!

The lovely team behind the National Tea Day, spent their time tasting our cakes and a range of delicious teas (what a great job!) and have come up with what they think is the perfect mix using the beautiful Amber Rose Tea Company Collection.

Gooey Chocolate Brownie & Painted Lady

With the richness of our Belgian chocolate brownie what better than something sweet and fruity to sip alongside! Painted Lady is an exotic green tea blend using gojiberrues, physalis and strawberry. The flavour is described as a toffee apple, that sounds like a brownie recipe we'd love!

Peanut Butter Fudge Cake & Lemon and Ginger Rooibos

Rooibos tea is known for it’s deep nutty taste, the perfect match for our Peanut Butter Fudge Cake! With a hint of lemon ginger, this tea is refreshing and warming all in one, mmmm!

Crème Brulee Brownie & Goddess
We think our Crème Brulee is the goddess of cakes, and apparently the perfect tea for it is too! Goddess is a black tea blend with passion fruit, ginger, ginseng, roses with beautiful pink sugar hearts. Both these treats are intoxicating, full of flavour and ever so moreish!

Sticky Toffee Flapjack & Catherine
This tea is described as a ladies’ delight, a tribute to Catherine of Braganza who glamourized the tradition of Afternoon tea to Great Britain, we think she would have loved our flapjack! With cream caramel pieces and a hint of raspberry, could there be a better match?

Belgian Chocolate Rocky Road & Flowery Earl Grey

A silky, divine tea blend, made to delight Earl Grey lovers, just as the giant marshmallows in our Rocky Road delight treat lovers. This match is my favourite, with flowery hints of bergamot and marigold petals, this rich and zesty tea makes munching on this yummy cake even more enjoyable.

Salted Caramel Slice & English Breakfast Tea
We are ending our tea pairing masterclass with one of the nation’s favourites tea’s. With our crumbly shortbread base, smooth caramel and even smoother chocolate topping, what better than the tea described as the King of Comfort; the traditional favourite, English Breakfast Tea. Pop your feet up, grab these two and you have a perfect mix for cosy Sunday afternoon.

I will be joining everyone on the 21st of April at the National Tea Day event in London, bringing our yummy cakes and even demonstrating how to make my favourite Ultimate Tray-bake recipe, so come along!
