In my last change blog, I explained how important my brand is to me & how I’m falling in love with it again, so to go along-side this, I thought it would be a great idea to make some Logo Oreo Cake Pops! I may have been wrong...

With this great idea in my head, I popped to the shops, grabbed some delicious Oreos and payed a visit to my beautiful local cake decorating shop for some extras.

I used to make cake pops and sell them on my stall a long time ago, so I knew that part would be easy, and the logo is my name, so I definitely thought I could nail that!!

My last blog was ready to go up, ingredients at the ready, I started making my Cake Pops! I split each Oreo cut in half (taste tested any of the broken pieces, you know, just to make sure!), added melted white chocolate to the middle, placed the cake pop stick on top and put the Oreo back together. While it set, I melted more white chocolate and started to add my food colouring, this was the first hurdle I came too. My logo is a beautiful shade of blue/green, but no amount of food colouring could get me close to the colour!

When I had almost ran out of food colouring and decided it was close enough, I dipped them in the chocolate mixture, gently shook off the excess and left them to set again.

Here came the tricky bit, writing my ‘by Alana’ signature. I attempted one and immediately burst out laughing! As you can see, it didn’t quite turn out how I had planned!! I attempted a couple more, using an icing pen, using melted chocolate, small letters, big letters! But all came out bad as each other, and by now I had tears running down my face from laughing so hard! Safe to say I quit while I was ahead!

But you know what? The kitchen is my happy place, sometimes things may not go quite to plan, but I still completely love baking, creating delicious and fun things and experimenting with flavours.

My local cake decorating shop had the most beautiful sparkles, sprinkles and flowers. Instead I used these to finish off my Oreo Cake Pops and voila! I think they look rather pretty for an almost disastrous plan! And they taste delicious!

Lesson of the day? You can’t polish a disastrous logo cake pop, but you can sprinkle it in glitter!

If you make these at home (I hope you have better luck than I did!) and please don't forget to share using #bakingwithalana, I would love to see your pictures!

Happy Weekend Everyone!
